Jacqui Oatley MBE

Sports Presenter, Commentator, Keynote Speaker, Event Host

Jacqui Oatley is one of Britain’s leading sports commentators and presenters - a hugely respected and versatile broadcaster with almost two decades of experience.

Jacqui made history in 2007 as the first female commentator on Match of the Day and has been racking up the “firsts” ever since. She regularly commentates on Sky Sports’ coverage of the Women’s Super League as well as the English Premier League world feed. Jacqui also calls Mens and Women’s UEFA Champions League games for TNT Sports. She commutes from London to the USA to commentate on the NWSL for CBS Sports, USWNT games for TNT and was the first female play-by-play commentator for a US audience at a FIFA World Cup, working for FOX Sports in Qatar in 2022. She’s also travelled round Australia for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia & New Zealand for FOX.

As well as spending much of her working life in the commentary box, Jacqui is also an accomplished TV/radio presenter and event host. She continues to anchor ITV Sport’s PDC darts coverage, having done so since 2015.

As a former amateur player and FA qualified coach, Jacqui has commentated, reported, and presented at multiple major football tournaments around the world since 2005, including FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euros and Olympic Games as well as several FIFA Women’s World Cups and Euros for both TV and radio.

Jacqui was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours list for services to broadcasting and diversity in sport. The award was in recognition of her work behind the scenes championing the role of other women working in football as well as her passionate promotion of the women’s game. She is a Women in Football ambassador, having been a founding board member in 2007, and serves on the national committee of the Football Writers’ Association.

Jacqui has always had an innate passion for a wide range of sports. As well as presenting ITV darts, she has covered various other sports including tennis, golf, rugby league and snooker.

An engaging host with a vibrant personality, Jacqui has compered countless events for organisations such as FIFA, the Football Association, Premier League, non- sporting corporations and charities, plus she has delivered speeches at Goldman Sachs and many universities and schools. She is an accomplished keynote speaker and skilled moderator of panel debates and Q&A sessions.

In August 2021 she enjoyed a successful spell as co-host of BBC Five Live’s Drive programme and is an avid follower of news and current affairs. Jacqui was a BBC commentator on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee procession in 2012.

Away from work, Jacqui is a married mother to Phoebe and Max.
